The BEAR team, led by Daniel Theobald, has put thousands of man hours into their creation.

We follow the BEAR team as they work furiously toward a pivotal moment - testing the BEAR's ability to balance on two legs and pick up a 200 pound mannequin.

The BEAR is quite unlike any other robot out there in its use of hydraulics and tracks, so the team is continually being challenged to come up with solutions to new problems.

When a disastrous failure of a leg joint happens, the whole project is in jeopardy. These backyard geniuses have just days to solve the problem or see their beloved robot possibly consigned to the scrap heap.
